BSc(Hons) Chiro MCA ,GCC registered
Teresa Mann is a state registered Chiropractor having trained at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic (accredited by the University of Wales). This training was a 4 year Bsc (Hons) degree.
She originally commenced Registered General Nurse training but left to start her family. She went on to be a Doula (birth partner), a breast feeding counsellor with La Leche League and worked with the elderly.
As a result of back pain following the birth of her second child she sought numerous forms of therapy. After being impressed with McTimoney Chiropractic and its approach, her chiropractor encouraged her to train.
This technique provides a gentle, low force approach to chiropractic. For further details about the McTimoney technique go to the McTimoney Chiropractic Association website.
Teresa is very patient focused and firmly believes in taking a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of patients should the need arise. This involves working closely with other therapists where necessary to advance the healing of the patient, and always liaising with the GP should it be necessary.
Her philosophy is also to provide patients with support, such as minor lifestyle changes, stretches and exercise advice that empowers the patient to be more in control and take more responsibility of their ongoing health. With experience in Yoga, Pilates and dance, she is keen to show all patients how to rehabilitate with exercises and postural awareness to maintain their health. She can also provide direction to obtain nutritional and dietary advice to further aid effective lifestyle changes.
All chiropractors are required to be registered with their statutory regulatory body, the General Chiropractic Council – it is a criminal offence to practice as a chiropractor unless you are have passed the appropriate examinations and registered as one. As part of the annual re-registration process, all chiropractors are required to complete at least 30 hours of annual learning (continuing professional development).
Teresa constantly acquires and updates skills aimed at optimising patient care.
