Dr Teresa MannBSc (Hons) Chiro MMCA MCC
Teresa is a state registered Chiropractor having trained at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic (part of the University of Wales). This involved a 5 yr medical based degree.
As a result of back pain following the birth of her second child she sought numerous forms of therapy. After being so impressed with McTimoney Chiropractic and its holistic approach, her chiropractor encouraged her to train.
This technique provides a more gentle approach to treatment than “traditional” chiropractic. For further details about the McTimoney technique go to the McTimoney Chiropractic Association website www.mctimoney-chiropractic.org.
Teresa is very patient focused and firmly believes in taking a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of patients should the need arise. This involves working closely with other therapists should this seem necessary to advance the healing of the patient.
Teresa welcomes the opportunity to work alongside GP’s and is regularly referred patients from GP’s who have confidence in her work.
As well as the commonly presented symptoms mentioned below, strange unexplainable aches and pains, headaches and general malaise are welcome challenges in clinic!
Areas of special interest have included working with the elderly in which there has been great success in alleviating pain, increasing mobility and general well being.
With experience in Yoga, Pilates and Dance, Teresa is keen to show all patients how to rehabilitate with exercises and postural awareness to maintain their health.
Due to previous experience as a Doula (birthing partner) and a breast feeding counsellor with La Leche League, she also has a special interest in working with pregnancy, babies and post-natal cases. Cranial-Sacral therapy is soon to become an addition to her work.
Indeed experience has shown McTimoney Chiropractic is as valuable as a general health and maintenance treatment and not just for pain relief or cure and Teresa has a strong following of patients who come regularly for their MOT’s!
